Math Games Club
In Math games club this month we made marshmallow catapults out of plastic spoons, popsicle sticks
and rubber bands. Then we tried slingshots. See how the size of the fulcrum and
your height off the floor can make your marshmallow the winner! We had a contest and measured the distances of the flying marshmallows. Dominic was the winner whose marshmallow flew with 20 feet!

STEM club
The St. James STEM club made DIY lava lamps during its March meeting!
Our STEM Club is made up of students from grades 3-5. Each month we do a project to explore a different topic in science. In March, we made DIY lava lamps. Each student took a new water bottle and drank half the water. Then they decorated the outside and added food coloring to the water.
We filled the rest of the bottle with oil and made two layers. The color stayed in the water layer.
When we shook the bottles hard enough, the layers mixed together for a little while.
Alka-seltzer tablets made the water bubble up into the oil. Just like a lava lamp!
Putting a light underneath made it look even better!

Student Council
Saint Anthony of Padua Easter Meals
Some of our students wanted to do more than just raise funds, however. They wanted to put their faith into action. On the Saturday morning before Easter, Kristen, Juliana, Akshaya and Brittany joined many volunteers in assembling and packing 375 meals for residents in our community. These young women truly live the Gospel message and made Easter much happier for families that need help.
